Homemade Orange Julius

This is a family favorite, my mom used to make when I was little. It’s a yummy refreshing treat that can be served for breakfast, as a snack or for dessert. You can make it with almost any flavor of frozen juice concentrate. Orange is our favorite, but strawberry and pineapple are also amazing. To change things up you could add a banana or some frozen strawberries.

I used to make this with granulated sugar but just recently started using powdered sugar. It’s not quite as sweet and makes a smoother drink than the granulated sugar.

There’s no better way to save money than by making your own food and snacks at home.

Homemade Orange Julius

Course: Breakfast, Dessert, Drinks, Snack


  • 6 oz frozen orange juice concentrate (¾ cup)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 10-12 ice cubes (approx. 1½ cups)


  • Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and frothy. Serve immediately.
