Disney’s Dole Whip

In April, Disney released their recipe for Dole Whip on the My Disney Experience App. If you haven’t tried it yet you are missing out. Disney’s Dole Whip was introduced to the Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts in 1986 and has been a huge hit ever since.

There are 6 Dole Whip fruit flavors served at Disney (pineapple, orange, raspberry, strawberry, mango, and lemon), although pineapple is the most popular. This recipe can be made with any of the fruits listed, just make sure it is frozen. If you don’t have frozen pineapple you can replace it with fresh or even canned pineapple. Drain off the juice and freeze the pineapple before adding it to the blender.

The Dole Whips served in the park are non-dairy, but the recipe they released to the public uses vanilla ice cream. Canned coconut milk, soy, almond, oat milk, or non-dairy ice cream may be used in place of the ice cream if you prefer a non-dairy version. If using non-dairy milk I suggest slightly freezing the milk to achieve the soft serve consistency that ice cream produces. Place in the freezer after blending until the desired consistency is reached.

To make an adult version replace the pineapple juice with vodka or rum. Coconut, vanilla, pineapple, or spiced-flavored rum or vodka complement the pineapple extremely well. Enjoy!
