Homemade Kahlúa — Easy Coffee Liqueur You Can Make at Home

Instructions
1. Make the Coffee Syrup Base
In a large saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and allow the mixture to simmer for 10 minutes.
2. Add the Coffee
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the instant coffee granules until fully dissolved. Allow the mixture to cool completely to room temperature.
3. Finish the Liqueur
Once the mixture has cooled completely, stir in the pure vanilla extract and vodka (or your preferred spirit). Mix well to fully combine.
4. Bottle and Store
Pour the finished Kahlúa into clean bottles or jars. Seal tightly and store in a cool, dark place.
When stored properly, this homemade coffee liqueur will keep for several years.

Ingredients

- 3/4 cup instant coffee granules
- 2 Tbs pure vanilla extract (not imitation)
- 4 cups vodka (or your choice of rum, white rum, brandy, or Everclear)
Instructions
- In a saucepan combine the sugar and water, heat on medium, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in instant coffee, and allow to cool completely.
- When completely cool, stir in vanilla extract and vodka. Pour into clean bottles or jars. Close bottles tightly, and store in a cool dark place. Will keep 3-4 years if stored properly.
