Easy White Soda Bread
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 egg slightly beaten
- 2 cups buttermilk
- ¼ cup melted butter
Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and baking soda.
In a small bowl blend egg and buttermilk together, and add all at once to the flour mixture. Mix just until moistened. Stir in butter. Pour into prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
