Easy White Soda Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • ¼ cup melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
  • In a small bowl blend egg and buttermilk together, and add all at once to the flour mixture. Mix just until moistened. Stir in butter. Pour into prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
