Best Buys for May
May is one of the best months of the year to score serious deals. With warmer weather arriving and major holidays like Mother’s Day and Memorial Day, retailers roll out big discounts across multiple categories. In fact, Memorial Day weekend has become one of the biggest shopping events of the year, with sales often starting weeks in advance, especially on big-ticket items like furniture, appliances, and outdoor gear. If you’re planning purchases strategically, May is the perfect time to save.

If you are a Star Wars fan, you’ll be happy with all of the deals on May 4th. Look for deals from Starwars.com, Best Buy, Disney, GameStop, Hot Topic, and Lego. Save 20% off Star Wars toys, clothes, and more at Target in-store and online on May 4th only.
Cinco de Mayo
Most grocery stores will have awesome deals on Cinco de Mayo-inspired groceries. Look for sales on avocados, cheese, ground beef, salsa, tortillas, tortilla chips, and refried beans. This is one sale I look forward to all year, lots of my favorites at stock-up prices.
Don’t overlook seasonal produce and grocery savings either. Fruits and vegetables like strawberries, asparagus, and zucchini are in peak season, making them more affordable and better quality at the same time. Planning meals around what’s in season is an easy way to stretch your grocery budget further.
Clothing
Spring clothing and athletic wear are another smart buy. As retailers transition into summer styles, you’ll find markdowns on spring apparel and activewear. It’s a great opportunity to grab lightweight layers, workout gear, and everyday basics at a fraction of their original price.
Gardening and Outdoor
Outdoor and backyard essentials really shine this month. Grills, patio furniture, lawn equipment, and gardening tools all see solid discounts ahead of peak summer demand. Shopping early in May can help you beat both the crowds and the higher prices that often hit once summer is in full swing.
